Sometimes vintage watches come with the whole package.  You know - history, design, horological significance - the things we go on and on about here at analog/shift. 

Other times they are just cool, without all that other stuff. 

What you're looking at is a 1970s Wittnauer Day Date.  It has a steel case with gold bezel, a vibrant multicolor dial and a roulette calendar.  It's got unmistakable wrist presence.  It's even got that integrated bracelet design reminiscent of Gerald Genta's well-known masterpieces.

But let's face it: this is no masterpiece. 

What it is, however, is a really fun vintage watch with a great design, a high-quality, Swiss-made movement and a value proposition that's hard to beat.

No, you're not going to blow anyone's skirt up with this thing - hell, you'll be lucky if anyone even notices it. But we don't believe that's what collecting vintage watches is about.  While we clamber after minty 1675 GMT Masters and crispy Snowflakes like everyone else, we believe that the little odd ducks should have their day in the sun too.  So we do our best to save every little piece of vintage horology from the waste bin.  

Call it our civic duty.
